- Should I refinish my cabinets or replace them?
- If the boxes are solid wood or quality plywood and the layout works for you, refinish almost always wins on value. We strip, fill, prime, and spray with cabinet enamel — done right it looks better than the original factory finish and lasts. If the boxes are particleboard that's swelling or the layout fights you every day, replacement is the move. We'll be honest about which one your kitchen needs.
- Can you work around me staying in the house?
- Yes, that's how most kitchens go. We set up a temporary kitchen station for you — usually in the dining room with the microwave, coffee, and a folding table — and we keep dust contained with plastic and zip-walls. The kitchen itself will be out of commission for a stretch but the rest of the house stays livable.
- Do you handle quartz or granite countertops?
- We do the demo, supply runs, and final install, but the slab cutting and templating goes through a local fabricator. We've got a couple we trust. You pick the slab at their yard, they cut, we coordinate the install. That's standard for stone counters everywhere — nobody cuts quartz in your kitchen.
- What's the typical timeline for a kitchen?
- Cabinet refinish + counters + backsplash usually runs 2–3 weeks. Full rebuild with appliances and a wall removal is 5–7 weeks. Backsplash-only is a couple days. We give you a real start and finish date on the quote.
- Do you do permits and inspections?
- When the job needs them, yes. Most cabinet and counter work doesn't require a permit. Electrical changes, plumbing relocations, and structural work (wall removal) do, and we pull them as the licensed contractor of record.
